Supreme Group buys UK agency BioStrata, extending deal spree

Supreme Group has continued its private-equity-backed acquisition spree, inking its third takeover in 14 months by snapping up U.K.-based marketing and public relations agency BioStrata.

The story of Supreme Group’s deal spree dates back to March 2023, when the private equity firm Trinity Hunt Partners took a majority stake in a digital marketing agency focused exclusively on life sciences. That agency, the Texas-based Supreme Optimization, is now one of four units under the Supreme Group umbrella.

Connecticut-based health IT marketing agency Clarity Quest became the first acquisition in June 2023. In March 2024, Trinity Hunt disclosed the formation of Supreme Group and acquisition of the Idaho-based healthcare marketing and public relations agency Health+Commerce in quick succession.

Buying BioStrata gives Supreme Group a foothold in Europe. Based in Cambridge, U.K., the agency has worked with more than 200 life sciences companies including Merck KGaA and Thermo Fisher Scientific since setting up shop in 2014.

BioStrata helps clients with activities including branding, lead generation and product launches. The agency’s work with Thermo Fisher has included an attempt to raise awareness of the chromatography and mass spectrometry division and ensure consistent integration of public relations activities around trade shows.

Trinity Hunt is yet to sate its appetite for acquisitions. Mike Steindorf, partner at the private equity firm, said in a statement that he is enthusiastic about “exploring opportunities to welcome more outstanding businesses to the platform.”
