StrideMD touts remote patient monitoring tech in National Diabetes Month awareness campaign

As National Diabetes Month gets underway, StrideMD is among the diabetes care providers, tech developers and drugmakers helping raise awareness of the condition.

The Florida-based company has launched a new campaign, dubbed “Do You Know,” that aims not only to provide information about diabetes but also to educate patients about how remote patient monitoring can help manage the condition, according to a Tuesday announcement.

StrideMD’s own remote patient monitoring technology, Glutality, links up with patients’ existing continuous glucose monitors and blood glucose meters. The service monitors the devices’ readings around the clock, sending out alerts to the patient if their blood sugar readings leave a healthy range and alerting emergency contacts and paramedics for further help if necessary.

Meanwhile, users can also connect with telehealth doctors via the Glutality platform, where doctors can keep an eye on a patient’s recent glucose data to help inform any changes in treatment.

In a video celebrating National Diabetes Month, members of the StrideMD team start by sharing statistics about diabetes, including the projection that by 2045 around one in every eight adults around the world will be living with diabetes.

From there, they describe how the Glutality service “empowers patients to manage their condition from the comfort of their home,” with additional details about the ways in which both patients and doctors can use the platform to monitor blood sugar levels and overall health.

“As we observe National Diabetes Month, I want to emphasize the importance of continuous care for diabetes management,” one team member concludes, while another adds: “As we recognize National Diabetes Month, it’s important to understand the global impact of diabetes. Let’s work together to create a healthier future for those living with diabetes.”
