Klick Health swoops in to acquire life sci market access agency Peregrine

Klick Health is taking a fellow life-sci-centric agency under its wing.

The marketing giant announced Tuesday that it has acquired Peregrine Market Access, a Saratoga Springs, New York-based firm focused on value communications and, as the name suggests, market access strategy for life sciences clients.

In the release, Klick co-founder Leerom Segal praised Peregrine’s work and culture, which he compared to Klick’s, saying, “Peregrine and Klick both grew up fiercely independent, known for fostering high-performance, entrepreneurial, people-centric cultures. We are excited to bring our organizations together and unleash exponential potential.”

He added, “Both Peregrine and Klick are passionate about helping clients get innovative therapies to the patients who need them; we believe this will be a greater challenge for patients in the future, which makes an investment in this area so valuable.”

The purchase will not only expand Klick’s reach in the realm of market access strategy, according to the release, but also adds to the number of industry experts on the company’s staff.

As Holly Henry, Ph.D., Klick’s chief medical officer, noted in a statement, “Together, we are uniting the best medical and market access teams in North America, and bringing the number of Ph.D./advanced degree professionals within our medical and access functions alone to around 250 in the Klick Mediverse. We are committed to providing pharmaceutical and biotech clients with an unparalleled level of scientific, medical, and analytics expertise.”

This is the latest step in Klick’s journey to grow its market access work. In late 2023, the agency tapped Ellen Cappellino, an alum of AstraZeneca, Vertex Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer, to serve as executive director of value, access and reimbursement. Klick said at the time that Cappellino would be tasked with using the company’s clinical, creative and analytics offerings to help demonstrate how and where life sci clients’ products can work.

Klick has also recently experienced a broader growth spurt, with dozens of new hires and the creation of multiple new business segments in the past few years alone. Just last month, the agency announced nearly two dozen new hires, chosen to take on roles throughout the client services, creative, growth, media, medical and strategy teams across North America, the U.K. and the Asia-Pacific region.
