CG Life appoints Collette Douaihy as chief creative officer as C-suite buildout continues

CG Life has hired Collette “Coco” Douaihy, bringing the former Dentsu International, Evoke and Digitas Health leader on board to head up its creative offering to biopharma companies.

The agency, which specializes in rare and hard-to-treat diseases, has an executive creative director, Emily Ivey, but lacked a chief creative officer (CCO) before hiring Douaihy. CG Life framed the news of Douaihy’s appointment as CCO in the context of growing pressure on biopharma companies to connect scientific innovation with meaningful patient engagement in increasingly competitive therapeutic areas.

Douaihy brings more than 26 years of experience to her efforts to help companies manage the pressures. In recent years, Douaihy has worked as global CCO at Dentsu and Evoke, and earlier in her career, she served as executive creative director at Digitas.

CG Life disclosed Douaihy’s appointment alongside news of the promotion of Chris Weber, who joined the company in 2024 as senior vice president of strategy. Weber will now work as chief strategy officer. Hiring Douaihy and promoting Weber will “simultaneously elevate both creative and strategic capabilities at the agency,” CG Life said.

Douaihy and Weber form part of a C-suite that has taken shape over the past two years. In that time, CG Life has hired Jon Sawyer as chief operating officer, appointed Allison Davis as chief client officer and named Brian Caracciolo as chief financial officer (CFO).

Caracciolo was the most recent arrival, with CG Life disclosing his appointment late last month. The new CFO provides “the discipline and clarity we need to support growth, integrate future acquisitions and operate with greater business confidence,” CG Life CEO David Ormesher said in a statement.

CG Life acquired Toolhouse in 2024, doubling in size in the process, and bought Berry & Company Public Relations the next month. The company formed a strategic communications group after integrating Berry into the business.
